O2/22/25, All went well! The fish, shrimps, collar green, potato & macaroni salad are delicious. When we first walk in, the other customers pointed to the line for ordering, everything is cooked once ordered. It's about 20 to 30 minutes wait. * the place does have a nice scent or aroma, great for a fish restaurant for take out. The place has 3 stools to sit & eat, if you wish to do. We me the owner Alex & he has a real hospitality & very humble. We'll be going back real soon in March & will try the catfish. The trip to Harlem was really worth it!
The catfish combo is excellent in the old café is just as good but I find it better to order it online to pay a little more money so I can get in and out cricket because they be crowded. That's because they serving good food.
Love, love, love the food here. Can not believe I have never given this place a try! The fried shrimp, mac & cheese are my favorite. The whiting fish, and their tartar sauce was great. Loved the prices, it was very busy, not a long wait. The atmosphere was lively and music rocking!
I stopped by Make My Fish Saturday evening and they were already out of the chicken. I was going to order chicken and catfish and had to "settle" for the catfish. This is my second time trying to get the chicken, so I gotta do better next time. Third time should be the charm. My order of just the catfish, four generous, flavorsome, and crispy fried fillets to perfection, plus an added side of fries is the arguably the best fish and chips in the City, but I have not had the full range of the others and fish and chips is usually cod, not catfish. However, catfish is eminently more satisfying. The way they Make My Fish, it's hard to argue against the catfish proposition and, at under twenty bucks for the catfish and fries, that seals the deal. Add the hot sauce on top and tell me something different...smiles all around and people keep coming all night. They know what they are doing here. Let me add one thing: sometimes you need to listen to Brothas in these streets. I was walking uptown direction on Adam Clayton Powell Jr Blvd one afternoon passing by another fried fish spot and said out loud that it smelled good. A brother passing by in the opposite direction overheard me and said, "Go to Make My Fish." Thanks for the rec my Brother and thanks to the folks at Make My Fish. Next time Make My Chicken. Catfish was excellent! Fries could use a little work but still good. Very busy but staff kept it smooth.
